Lake Wales is located along the Florida geographical ridge at an elevation of 289 feet. Bok Tower sits on its highest point and is surrounded by a lush 157-acre garden. This historic landmark was built in 1929 out of Georgia marble and coquina stones. It houses one of the worlds greatest carillons. The 57 bells toll every 30 minutes.
The historic downtown district of Lake Wales is comprised of small shops and businesses housed in 1920 architecture. The Depot Museum and Cultural Center is located in a restored 1928 Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Station.
