Jensen Beach Florida
Martin County is criss-crossed by the St Lucie and Indian Rivers and the Okeechobee Waterway, all flowing into the Atlantic Ocean. From here you can travel through the locks at Phipps Park across the state to the Caloosahatchee River which feeds out into the Gulf-of-Mexico.
You can stroll along the white sandy shores of Jensen Beach hunting sea shells or play in the surf of the Atlantic Ocean. Jensen Beach is know as the Sea Turtle Capital of the World. On these beaches reptilian descendants from prehistoric times, giant green sea turtles, loggerheads, and leatherbacks weighing up to one-half ton, find their way to shore to protected nesting areas to lay eggs in the sand. More than 4,000 endangered turtles make their way here each year between May and August.
Jensen Beach
once was known as the "Pineapple Capital of the World" and still holds an annual pineapple festival. Appropriately, the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality.. With its major shopping centers, numerous specialty stores and unusual boutiques, the Jensen Beach area is renowned as a retail shopping center of the Treasure Coast. Jensen Beach also has earned a reputation for its seafood-intensive fine dining. The water enthusiast will find boating, sailing, fishing, skiing, surfing and scuba diving.
