Melbourne is located on the banks of a natural harbor of the Indian River Lagoon where the freshwater creek flows into the saltwater lagoon.  Melbourne offers miles of beautiful beaches, excellent fishing, and many other outdoor activities.   In Historic Downtown Melbourne, explore the many restaurants, outdoor lounges, entertainment, unique gift shops and many art galleries.  Visit the Brevard Zoo that is home to over 800 animals from around the world.  At the Zoo you can take kayak tours, train rides, and aerial adventures. The 2025 Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival will screen over 60 short films and along with feature length films.
