How a Jacobsen Manufactured Home is Built

Posted: October 14, 2021 by Jacobsen Homes

It's no secret that manufactured homes are a great option for retirees and families looking for affordable, yet customizable living accommodations. As the largest manufactured home producer in Florida, we march to the beat of our own drum, and strive to create manufactured homes that are both customizable and made with the utmost quality.

While the building process varies with each home’s unique design, the basic process remains the same.

Step One: Take a Tour of a Jacobsen Homes Manufactured Home Model Center or Community

The manufactured home building process starts with you. Although it’s not required, we recommend scheduling a tour at a Jacobsen Homes Model Center near you or where you want to live so that you can see our homes firsthand. Since manufactured homes are highly customizable, the options are endless. Seeing our homes in person will help you visualize what yours will look like and decide which type of features you want to incorporate in your home.

If you aren’t able to schedule a tour, you can also browse our floor plans online. There, you can get inspiration and ideas on what you want your new home to look like. Whether you’re looking for a small home, large home, or something in between, we have a wide selection for you to find the perfect fit.

While purchasing a manufactured home can seem daunting, our team is here to assist you and answer any of your questions. We will walk you through the entire process and help you with any other necessities such as finding land for your manufactured home.

Step Two: Purchase and Design Your Manufactured Home

Once you have an idea of the type of home you want, our design team will work with you to create it. You can customize your home’s floor plan, square footage, number of bedrooms, and features and finishes, which come in a range of materials, styles, and colors. Personalize your home by selecting characteristics that match your unique preferences and needs.

You can choose from a range of different features, such as:

Upgrade to luxury items and finishes to boost your luxury manufactured home’s aesthetic appeal and value. Choose energy-efficient features if you’re looking to lower your carbon footprint and save on energy costs long term.

Step Three: Manufactured Home Construction

Once you’ve finalized your home design, our team will construct your home. At Jacobsen Homes, we have proudly pioneered (and continued the use of) the most innovative tools and technology on the market to construct our manufactured homes: AutoCAD. Our in-house engineering experts use this software to draft floor plans and design your unique home.

We build our manufactured homes with extreme precision and care in a climate-controlled factory. At Jacobsen Homes, our manufactured home building process typically looks like this:

Our homes are just as safe as, if not more than, site-built homes as they are built to not only meet but exceed safety standards set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Once your home is built, it’s delivered to your manufactured home site, set up, and ready for you to move in!
